Biography

Richard brings disciplined trial preparation and steady judgment to real estate and property-harm litigation. He represents tenants and homeowners in disputes involving unsafe conditions, mold exposure, and contractor misconduct—cases where careful factual development make the difference.

Before joining the Firm, Richard practiced at a litigation firm in Houston. There he gained substantial civil-litigation experience, moving the ball forward from pre-suit negotiations through contested hearings and dispositive motions. He has experience defending and prosecuting contractual claims, responding to aggressive pre-suit tactics, and driving cases toward efficient, favorable resolution.

Earlier in his career, Richard practiced criminal defense and military administrative law. There he sharpened his courtroom advocacy and command of high-stakes proceedings.

Richard is a graduate of the University of Texas School of Law. While in law school, Richard was a member of The Law Veterans Association (TLVA) at Texas Law. Prior to law school, Richard served for eight years as an Infantry Officer in the United States Army. He deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Resolute Support.

Richard knows what it is to lead. As a captain, he commanded a dismounted infantry reconnaissance company. That experience informs his litigation style: methodical preparation, clear decision-making, and calm execution under pressure.

Richard earned his Bachelor of Science from the United States Military Academy at West Point. Outside of practice, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters and reading classical literature.
